American Rotation: this is a great game!

Is it possible to play this in a ring game format, with every player getting ball in hand at their turn at the table? I have played 8 ball in the past with ball in hand on every turn, and it makes the game super fast and good practice for your offense.

The shortcoming is your defensive game takes a back seat, but on a positive note you are working on patterns and cue ball positioning.

This sounds like a fun time, race to 100 between 3 or 4 players, all involved in the same game, instead of waiting to play winner of the next rack.

Here's the thing. People watch sports because they like watching sports. If people are looking for "interesting" personalities or whatever, there are plenty of non-sports-based entertainment options. Sports are sports. People like to watch the competition, see who's the best, who comes out on top. And they like watching athletes perform at the top of their game, particularly when they appreciate how difficult and amazing the performances are.

People care about the personal lives of athletes because they care about the sport, not vice versa. If pool succeeds it's going to be because people become interested in watching it as a sport. It's not going to be some gimmicky thing with celebrities or reality TV or whatever.

Pool pros don't have especially interesting personalities. This is not a knock, it's just not their job. Pro golfers and tennis players don't have especially interesting personalities either. What pool pros have to offer the world is being amazingly good at pool. Unfortunately, in 9-ball tournaments, all that amazingness kinda takes a back seat to trying to make the wing ball on the break.
