So I'm at a dilemma as to whether this table is worth shimming the rails, new rubber and new felt. Its a bit older, the slate is not backed with wood. For some reason there are no diamonds in the rails. One of the pedestals looks like it needs to be reinforced "just in case." And the slate where the pieces meet is chipped. It took a decent amount of wax to make it flush.

I have tried to look up some info on the table but I cannot find any. I'm thinking either sell it and buy something decent, or fix it up. Buy I don't want to supe up Kia... ya know. Thanks for reading. Pic is in my signature..just click the link... and I can take more pics or describe things in more detail if need be.

Sell it and put the money towards a better table. IMO

I would have to agree to sell it. The table looks like the old Charles Bailey Playmaster and not AMF. That's not such a bad thing but, your money would be better spent on refurbing a better table ONCE you find one.

Time for a new one!

Cushions, cloth, tightening pockets is quite an investment. This table probably fit your needs and budget when you aquired it and is certainly better than no table. You could certainly improve the playability of that table but you won't have a really good table. I have a friend that has a very inexpensive Connely. It plays OK and he and I play on that one more often then on mine and I hate it. It just feels like a table from Sears. However, everytime he comes over to my house he gushes at how nice my table is and plays, (and it hadn't played all that well then). I think you are asking what you already know so go get yourself a good table and spend the money on that one, you will not regret it.

Be patient a deal will come along. Tables are hard to find when you want one and hard to get rid of when you don't want one. I recently hooked a another friend up with a pretty nice Olhausen. It was in a house that an associate had listed on the market. The seller did not want to be bothered with it so was including it with the house. The buyer on the other hand did not want it in the house as they wanted the room. What it cost my friend to aquire the table was that he had three days to get it out before the closing. He and I went there and in about and hour we had it loaded in a truck.

yeah you know i really don't think its an AMF playmaster anymore... lol. It says Playmaster, Inc on the little plate on the end. I just figured it was an old one since the Savannah AMF model had similar charactoristics. It does have 1" slate. ANy suggestions on a selling price?
