A friend of mine emailed me this story. I'm not sure all of it is true, because we all know how much pool players and poker players like to stretch things. Does anyone know this guy? It's still a pretty good read.

Yeah, the Archie story has even been on TV. Mr X was a casino boss/mgr that he met at a local bar. When I was in LV for the BCA and/or VNEA nationals many years back I saw him at the Cue Club gambling big @ 1p. However, most of his money was gone at that point from what I heard.

It is true. You and I both know somebody that witnessed it, and even played Archie himself.

He ended up with all the money by beating craps. I think he could tumble the dice. Then they changed the rules and he blew almost all of it back. Pretty sick.

Toby invested the money he won to become part owner of the Cue Club in LV. I do not believe he owns any part of it any more.

Mr. X is Bobby Baldwin, who won the World Series of Poker in 1978. He went on to become Steve Wynn's right hand man running the Mirage and then the Bellagio. He's now the CEO of Mirage Resorts. The room at the Bellagio where Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, and those guys play the "big game" is named after him..."Bobby's Room".........
