An interesting thing happened at pool last night

"accidently hit the cushion of a stool with the butt cap and it went flying off". I love when someone damages a pool cue it always isn't their fault and it was floating on a cushion of air and things just fell off! I had a player tell me once that he just noticed that the butt cap magically cracked, that is until I found out that he lost a match and slammed the butt on the ground. If you look at the butt it doesn't look like a clean break between the butt and tenon.

It was going down as he flipped it to put in his case, lost his grip and it did hit the top of a stool. One of my players saw it happen minutes after him and I finished playing a match. I was 3 ft away, and only heard a soft thud. The part that actually let go was the black fibre ring between the metal ring and the butt cap.
Either way, it's all back together and just waiting on finish. It needs to be built up .025 thick to match the rest of the sleeve.
