Last November, Scott Lee posted on the forum that Jack White's wife, Mollie, had suffered a massive stroke. They were on tour when this tragic event occurred. Last night, I received word that Mollie passed away on the 12th of January. :(

I would ask that everyone say a prayer for Jack. He is a great trick shot showman that still draws big crowds to this day. He is one of the best players that I've ever observed on a pool table, one of the best players that I had the priviledge of playing & a great ambassador for the game of pocket billiards.

If you've never seen Jack perform, then you're really missing out on something! So if you get the opportunity to watch him in action, don't hesitate to do so because you won't be disappointed!

This is really a bummer. I wish all the best for Jack.

I had the opportunity to see him in 84' - 87' when he came to Central Washington University to entertain us students. He was quite the player and showman.

I feel for Jack.
I was able to see Jacks show for 4-5 years in a row and very much enjoyed it. He came to the university for a full week and privately told me it was one of his favorite weeks. We had a mutual acquaintance and wen to dinner once. Nice guy with tons of stories.
He really hated it when the school scaled back the budget and he no longer came.
My prayers will be with Jack and his family

I saw Jack in about 1976-77 at Parkland Junior College in Champaign Il. Yes. he put on quite a show.

I met Jack when I was attending UT Arlington - his shows were incredible and he was such a nice man. After his show he took the time to chat with everybody. He is the kind of pool ambassador that should be in the Hall of Fame. I will keep him in my prayers as this must be an incredibly difficult time for him.

Mollie will be missed...

I know that Jack will be lost without Mollie. They were a truly happily married couple for just short of 50 years. Mollie traveled with Jack all over the world, and they had innumerable friends, many of which were high political and/or military figures...even roylaty. Jack is the ONLY American poolplayer EVER to do a command performance for the Queen of England (which was only about 10 or 12 years ago). He also performed for the President in the White House...although there were a couple of others who can claim that too. Jack introduced me to what pool CAN be, and I will be forever grateful for that. The honor of taking over his tour is something I treasure, and I can only hope to be 10% as popular and good for the game, as he was...but I'll be happily doing this for a long time to come! Jack touched thousands of us 'pool kooks' over the decades of traveling and performing. I don't know if this will be the end of his touring or not. I do know that without Mollie, a light has gone out in his life!

The show will go on

Scott, my understanding is that he will continue to do exhibitions. I believe he is going to be in the area of Atlanta next week.

I neglected to mention previously that Jack has had the honor of performing in front of eight different presidents, starting with JFK. LBJ was his favorite because, to quote him in a newspaper article, "You knew where you stood with him."

"Straybullet", I feel that you are correct in your assessment. He has done nothing but great things for the game of pocket billiards.
