And finally...My extensions!

A banger at best...

With the help of one talented AZ member, Cue Crazy, I was able to get my extensions made for my Schon LTD 642. Enclosed you will find some pictures of how Greg approached the project and the fine job he did. I pressed him really hard for time towards the end, needing these for two upcoming tournaments. Given a do-over perhaps some years from now, they could have come out darker in stain had I not pressed him for time, but they are a close match to my existing forearm of my Schon, and I would also probably want them smaller around, making them only slightly lighter perhaps but again that involves more time for turning them down.

This first post will show the mods he did to the butt of the cue itself, the second will show the actual extensions. We decided to use a titanium pin to lighten the load some, and it indeed did help.

Anyway, I am very proud of him and these extensions...and I think they will really help my game on those long corner to corner shots as well as other long shots for this short armed wheelchair player. I would appreciate comments and I give Greg full credit for a job well, well done. I am extremely pleased with the extensions Greg!

Thanks for the kind words Shorty, It was a pleasure meeting you in person, and a cool little project. Get with Me when you have more time, and we'll talk about trimming it some more, and refinishing If you would like. That will give the wood more time for movement before trimming It smaller anyway, would be better, and you can still use it for now atleast. I thought It may be alittle big still when you were here, saw It, and we were discussing It, due to the finish still needed applied, but time was'nt on our side, same with the finish, That's just a quicky job on there, and really hated letting that out of here like that. Thought I had it dark enough, but when I let the stain dry out good It lightened up more then I thought, and there was not enough time for another cote to dry if I was going to get it cleared, and to you in time. It was fun, and enjoyed doing something alittle different, altough would have been nice to have just alittle more time :D Thanks for the oppertunity, and get with me later when you have time, if you want to tune It up some.

This was one of the last pics taken, so don't know if you got it, It shows the two pieces screwed together. Hopefully the pictures will be of use to someone else trying to do something like this, and will give them some ideas. for reference there is also a thread in the cuemakers area with pics of one someone else made that looks as if It was well made.

Look forward to seeing you when you come back up this way Shorty, rumor has it there may be some cancelations, even more stops and sooner. I'll let you know when I know for sure. Thanks Greg
