I had Andy make me a predator shaft for a cue he made me a few months ago. Here is the cool thing. I sent him the blank and he tapered and finished it for me. The biggest knock on the predator shaft is the soft hit and dead feel. Well, Andy put the same taper on the blank as he does on his regular shafts. This mad a huge difference. It doesn't by and means hit as well as his regular shafts but does hit much more solid than a 5 16/14 standard predator shaft. I had no idea that the joint collar and taper could have that much effect on a spliced LD shaft.

I understand this to mean you like it as a compromise between the LD properties of the Predator and the hit of Andy's standard shaft. Correct? If so, how would you compare the deflection of the Predator shaft tapered by Andy versus a stock Predator shaft? Also, is it safe to assume you're talking 314-2?
It is a 314 2 and the deflection is a little higher but you actually gain some of that feel that you lose with an ld shaft back. Much more solid hit!
