Does Andy Gilberts cues have a forward balance, butt heavy, or somewhere in the middle? Any input is appreciated because I am seriously thinking of getting one. Thanks.

I think he can do them anyway you ask.
To be honest the forward balance issue is why I went with Skip Weston. I really liked his honesty and the fact that he won't compromise the integrity of the cue in order to achieve it. Not saying that Andy would, but just explaining why I went with Skip. I believe, with the right wood combo not to mention a SS joint, forward balancing is fairly easily achieved.
I also requested a slightly heavier than normal shaft to help with it.

How forward balance do you like in a cue?
Will you consider 18.5" from the butt end forward balanced?
Thank you.

Hi,
I also like forward balanced cues and i ordered a stell joint Gilbert but by mistake i received a flat faced cue.I liked the cue but the balance was not enough forward for me about 18,25" from butt end.I sold it and now i am waiting for a stell jointed cue again.Hope i will get it this time.

Mine is 58" long with a balance point of about 18.5" from the end of the butt cap (not including the bumper).

The feel you like

Players refer to cues as forward balanced, even
my cue is suppose to be forward balanced, but
to me, it feels 'evenly' balanced with the weight
in the center of the cue, not with the most weight
felt by my bridge hand. I have felt a cue that is
heavily forward weighted (a bushka), and I did not
care for it and how it was weighted.

I don't know about him...but I wouldn't.

Neither would I but I guess it's up to the individual.
19.5 or greater would be optimum forward balance for me.

The Andy Gilbert cues I have tried had about a 18.5" from the butt balance point--that is why I asked my question since I wanted to know if that was considered forward balance by the poster.
I tried some Southwest with a 18" balance point form the butt end and some were a bit less than 18.5".
I like about a 19" from the butt balance myself. I do not like the balance too forward--anything past 19" makes me feel uncomfortable.
Thank you.

Ok i'll tell .But don't go back sayin i told..His balance point is .3/4 from the wrap .so if u want more heavy at the frount .It has to be custom from the start.u can go with a lamanted shaft and a liter butt, to get the the weight u r looking 4 ..Like this 18.5 oz q .Put a lamanted shaft it will change to a 19 oz or 18.9 oz the shaft weight is heavier..
hope that can help ..
