Ok I know this is also probably another strange scenario, but what defines a "bank"
I think we all know in our minds what a legal bank shot in bank pool really is, but how would you explain this from a rules perspective.
For example at the DCC bank pool ring game there is a rule that prevents a player from playing a masse into the same rail three times for a "three rail kick"
I'm looking for a definition here of what truly defines what a legal bank shot is in regards to bank pool.
By some definitions I've heard simply hitting the cushion next to the pocket its going into would count as a bank pool shot...ie cheating the pocket a little and coming softly off the rail next to the hole with a cut rather than a bank. I know we count them in bank pool, but in effect is a bank off the point of the pocket really even a bank...i've heard some arguments on this but its generally accepted that a bank off the point or "jaw" as I've heard it called is a legal bank shot if called properly. Obviously rail first doesn't count and all shots must not involve collisions with more than the cueball and the target object ball, this includes rail first, combination banks or kiss banks. Double kisses are also not legitimate bank shots.
