Another Belgium youngster won EC in snooker now at age 14

After Ceulemans in the old days,
After wend jansens winning the WC snooker some time ago
After Kurt declerck winning the WC pool weelchair some time ago

After Stephen lammens winning the European championship youth in pool last year.
After 13y old Kamila khodjaev winning the European championship girls in pool this year,
there is the 14y old Luca Bresel who just won the European Snooker Championship under 19. With the british and irish being THE snooker nations, for him winning this , especially at his age is something worth writing about.

He reached the finals by making a nice 135 break in his last frame .
England's hopes of a champion were dashed further in the final when the Belgian took the deciding frame against Michael Wasley.

Grats Luca !! and the future of belgium in pool and snooker DOES look good. 13y and 14y old kids winning vs the 18y german in pool and 18y old englisch in snooker. Can't get any better.

Hey Solly, I was catching up on old posts. Whatever came of the problems you were have getting the 13 yr. old qualified to represtent Belgium?

we have assembled many letters om the European federation,national federation, some motivation notes from myself, some newspaper articles, some intervieuws, she's doing a press conference monday with the mair, and we hope all this will help to get a faster naturalisation proces. but i has been a strugle... They have been living in belgium since 2001 and they arent even alowed to enter a demand yet. They have to wait another year before aplying and then wait xxx years before aproval. Lets hope her talent can speed things up. The faster she can play with the pro's ,the sooner she'll become one.

Anyway, at the moment she can participate in the WPA WC open in taiwain end this month She won the qualifier in holland. We did had the problem that they dont have any $, and as this is a open the federation cant pay for her expenses. so i took in charge a some PR work, many articles, radio intervieuws, TV interviews, and at the moment I have managed to get 3000€ (4.5k $) together from people wanting to donate.

We are still trying to get her visa's right (wich looks to be harder then tought) but once thats out the way, she ready to play Yasmin and all the rest

She just spend a week with the european team training in germany, and she is all ready to go
