Another Glue Question

Whoa!!! I spit my coffee out too!!! Glue all over the top of the slate? Im not a table mechanic but I think I would look elsewhere for table advice. I have watched my Simonis installation DVD numerous times and nowhere do they tell you to glue the felt down anywhere but the edges. Seems to me it may be kinda hard to stretch if its glue across the entire top.
P.S. For what its worth I also stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

Yeah never seen someone glue the felt to the slate in the playing surface. Sure people have tried bet one or two may have succeed but I wouldn't bet on it

Glue method

I was speaking to a gentleman last night about table installation. I'm totally ignorant when it comes to table installation, maintenance, etc. Well, I'm buying a Goldcrown and this guy, apparently, has set up a few in his life and I was interested to hear what he had to say.

We were talking about putting new cloth on and he said glue is the way to go. Naturally, I'm assuming he's talking about gluing the cloth along the edges where it would normally be stapled, but no! He said he puts glue over the entire surface of the table and glues the cloth down!! I almost spit my drink out! As a player only, that sounds like a TERRIBLE idea.

So my glue question is this; Are there other people who do this? Is this more commonplace than I think it is? Forgive me if this is a totally asinine question but, as I said, I'm utterly ignorant to these things.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD THIS GUY GET ANYWHERE NEAR ANY TABLE OF MINE! My advice RUN AWAY!!!!!

Now there is a glue method that is used by mechanics but it does not involve gluing the entire bed cloth down! Only the edges.
