Can anyone tell me any one pocket tournaments where jump cues ARE allowed? I don't care if were talkin' Galveston, Derby, U.S. Open or the local tournament at your uncle Spanky's house on the weekends... Just looking to be informed is all because Ike just told me two days ago, that "LOTS OF PLACES AND TOURNAMENTS LET YOU USE JUMP CUES IN ONE POCKET". I've searched the internet, here on azbilliards, and I can't seem to find many examples. In fact, I can't find any... Could some of you more experienced guys give me a little more first hand experience with this please... Again... specialized JUMP CUES (SHORTER THAN NORMAL), not asking about jump SHOTS but jump "CUES" lol thanks in advance...

why wouldn't you just ask Ike which one's do? I personally have never seen someone bust out a jump cue playing 1P, but if Ike says it's so....must be.

as a sidenote: I might consider playing Ike some 1P even, if all he could shoot with is my jump cue. lol :o

I did ask, his reply "a bunch of 'em... It doesn't come up that often so I don't remember. But a bunch of 'em ..."

I don't play in many one pocket tournaments but I can't remember one that I have played in where they specifically forbade jump cues.

Well he might try you some if he can use his jump cue. I played a guy this way getting 2 games on the wire in a race to five. I lost the first game and ran eight and out the second game. I ended up losing 5:4 because the other guy was a much better one hole player but he wised up on the fact that I could play with the jump cue real fast.

He later gave me some very important one pocket lessons that have made me plenty of money in the intervening years.

Don't get trapped on the playing with the jump cue gaff. :-)
