After reading Duane's posting I thought I would post a review of my new Shurtz custom. As you can see Bob used a really premium piece of Fiddle-back Maple in the forearm and jet black Gaboon ebony in the handle to build my cored 6 point 4 veneer half spliced player, the Index work is 12 slot and only at the butt & the joint. The points are waay longer than normal & the ebony is a couple inches shorter than normal which seems to give the stick a long slender look. The fit & finish is great which is typical of one of Bob's sticks. It plays as good as it looks, with a great vibration free solid hit and no extraneous noises (clinks or clunks). Bob's cored handles just feel better at impact than any thing I have hit in a long time. If the cue was not a 6 pointer it would look like a full splice butt.
