Another Revo silencer pad question/juma pad

Hi Barry
I Don't think you have need to buy that 3m. That's rediculous money.
Try this;
After you face, turn it by hand holding a piece of 180 grit against it. Then blow it off and wipe it with a paper towel.
Put the loctite on the silencer pad. Use a tooth pick to spread it around. Then install it.
Btw
You are bringing your tailstock forward with a live concave center to hold it securely without wiggle, CORRECT?
Yes I bring the tailstock forward with a live centre which has a flat face insert I machined up , holds it nice n flush n firm . This time I indeed used a little 180 or slightly coarser to rough it up a little. Also used the loctite gel to stick the fiber pad on. Then put the juma on, then the tip, both with loctite pro. I'll give it back to him Thursday and cross my fingers, tourny coming up in a fortnight so hopefully it'll be fine for him. Others Revos I've done have been fine but only one other person has required the silencer replacing on their revo and they haven't had any problems. Two tips came off over the winter but both were installed with rubber reinforced cyano, but I also used activator from loctite plastic (probably shouldnt have in hindsight). One was a predator c/f break shaft

Thank you to all and in particular Michael Webb for the advice regarding Loctite Gel, DAP Rapidfuse and in general, the customer is very happy with the result , his cues playing very well and very consistent for him. Ended up using a traditional red fibre pad, small juma pad and then the kamui soft tip.

Your welcome. Glad it worked out.
