An Omega/dpk "Ugly Stick". Birdseye maple points into what appears to be goncale avles or paduk forearm. Could be pau ferro as well. 3 veneers and a maple butt sleeve. Maple block rings at a,b,c,d, and e. This one is a little rough around the edges, but shoots really nice. Big thanks to Mike M. aka "Jazzn4444" for doing a flawless transaction. Don't hesitate to do business with Mike, really stand up guy and readily available for email questions and phone calls. Sorry for the poor lighting, but enjoy the pics nonetheless.

Why did Omega label some of the cues as "Ugly Stick"? Was there a reason other than the fact they may have thought they were ugly?

somewhat uneven points.....
Sean is right, mostly because of the uneven point work. These cues are made at a time when Bender was still experimenting under DPK's tutilage. Also, sometimes they (Bender and DPK) didn't care for some of the wood combinations of the points, forearms, and butt sleeves. I believe it was DPK who coined the term for the cues, being the character that he is. Personally, most of the "Ugly Stick" I have seen are actually very nice wood combos. Regardless, the cues are still Omega/dpk and play really really nice, hence my soft spot for them.

Ricky,
If you ever get the urge to part with that or another of your omegas shoot me a PM.
