I just wanted to share a picture of a new Whitten Case. Joe put together a custom 4X2 to go with my Crown Jewel Meucci. I asked for a case that would encorporate an ivory slab that Meucci used when designing the prototype crown jewel inlay. Dark brown trimmed with tan did the trick. Thanks Joe, I couldn't be happier with the result!

I like the way your new Whitten case turned out. Is it one of the new lighter versions that i've heard about?

Is it the Lite, or Regular Whitten?

This design was done on the regular shell. I never really had issues with the weight of those cases and I wanted the most rigid platform available for the ivory slab.

I have read the threads about Meucci and how standards may have changed since the days of the "Originals." I'm not out to change opinions here though I do respect Bob Meucci for doing so much for the industry.

I own this crown jewel because the same model cue was used by a local mentor of mine, Ed Gregory. There is a story behind how I got the cue that I want to share though I'm not even sure you will read this thread again...

I bought the last originals of the Roadrunners picture. I had them signed by the pros in the picture. Over 3 years I managed to catch up to Sigel, Diliberto and Rempe and after reproducing Larry Lisciotti's signature, the set became quite unique and valuable. The players were all opposed to signing...they had not been paid for the picture when copies were selling across the country in the 80's. My offer was to simply give each player an equal number of the pictures in exchange for their signatures. Everyone would share equally and all would gain something of value. I sold the set to billiardmemorabilia.com and the players were either given cash or signed pictures. My end, when it was all over, was a personalized Roadrunners picture and this Meucci cue.

When I look at the cue, there are nothing but positive memories. I met some fine people through pool and memorabilia collecting. I enjoy the cue and its new Whitten case; I thank the people who helped me get it.
