Another WWYD 9-ball

I'd make the 8 in the top left corner and go 6 rails to get on the 9.

Well, if the 8 and cue ball were parallel, I would still shoot it, go 4 rails for the 9 in the bottom left pocket.

I'd like to see a video of you making this shot if you don't mind.

Cut the 8 in and go 3 rails for shape on the 9 using low right hand english.

Load up with right english and go 4 rails to play the 9 in the bottom pocket. Not too difficult of a shot. If the cue ball were on the rail however, it's a completely different story. Any less angle than this and I would probably consider loading up with inside english to bring the cue ball back down towards the bottom right pocket to play the 9 in the upper pocket.

I think using any low brings the side pocket scratch into play. I use pure right and hit the rail before the side pockets, spinning deep into the bottom right pocket, coming out to the first diamond on the 4th rail for perfect shape.

In no particular order here are 3 "possible options". There are others...

Shot #1 - red - the shot Tooler was talking about. It probably depends on the exact layout (sometimes pictures aren't accurate) to see if the angle looks good on this one. You would hit it with a low to possibly low right with good speed to try to naturally go 4 rails.

Shot #2 - blue - Nice angle in/angle out bank with a bit of follow on the cue ball. Speed is the key here so that the cue ball rolls forward a bit to make your cut on the 9 not as bad

Shot #3 - yellow - Cut the 8 with a lot of top left so that the cue ball will almost go back in a straight line once it hits that first rail. You will still leave yourself a cut on the 9 that may be difficult but it appears from the drawing you can't just cut the 8 and try to hold it to the first rail hence hitting it harder with inside to get close to the bottom rail in the picture.

Use top left, bank 8 in lower left, 9 upper left

Low right should bring the CB to the diamond below the side pocket in my way of seeing if stroked well.

You need to use hard low left, off the first rail, the left spin till take over on the second rail and add more velocity and angle to go around a total of 4 for the 9 in the corner. The cueball has to maintain good spin off the first rail to catch off the second rail.

Going 3-4 rails low right will work also and is probably a much easier stroke. hit right before the center pocket, to the short rail, long rail before the center pocket and back to the original rail.

Which could also open up off the second rail and scratch into the bottom side pocket.

Since you want to see some fancy ****, this is what I would do:

High Inside & Low Outside - Both with a good stroke.

Here's Pat Fleming shooting this shot at about 2:45 in this video. I love this shot and its a fun one to shoot.

In my experience I can only get that shot to work with cloth that is new or nearly new (still slides quite a bit) and/or a high gloss cue ball. You notice he uses the red circle cue ball, that supposedly has the carom finish.
