Hmmm .... i also think its an SEARING ..... RECUTPOINTS ... is that the standard way which Dennis is attaching the Forearm to handle ??

Thanks for the Input.

Nice cue BTW

looks good

I would not think Searing though ... metal rings on top of the other ringwork shown doesn't seem like Dennis. Fisher? Sly?

The Rest of the Story

Ok guys, I didnt wish to do this because it isnt done yet. I dont have my hot little hands on it either. It should be done soon, just needs the wrap. Once it is wrapped I will post some pictures, of the completed cue.

I am in Iraq and am about to go home and my girl friend is going to be really tee'd off at me when I lay my hands on my cue before I do her.

I am antsy to get my hands on this baby. I have looked the pictures over and I do not see a flaw in the cue. The wood in this cue went through 3 hurricanes in the turning process and Dennis told me that it never moved, everytime he put it on the lathe it was true. He also told me that that is extremely rare. Dennis has been a pleasure and a true gentleman to work with, or I should say discuss with as he is doing all of the work. I have to remember what I called him about because we will start talking about woods cue construction etc and you can just tell he is a Master Craftsman and has a great love for his craft, talking to him I would say it is his passion. this cue is going to be my playing cue. I let a Gus, a Barry, a Bender, a Shick, and a Kiekel go trying to maintain a marriage. I will let the woman go before I part with this cue.

Searing

To answer a few questions first the veneers are NOT recuts they are ebony. Also i have always felt that woods used in musical instruments provide the best hit in a cue. The wood is Jamacian Cocus, it may not be the visually striking wood that some are but it is considered THE best musicail wood for flutes and bag pipes. It is very difficult to find in a cue sized piece of lumber. I have never seen nor heard of a cue made from it so the verdict is out on it. I do know this is the first and only cue that Dennis has made with it. I think he is impressed with the wood working qualities of the wood but you will have to ask him. Dennis is going to hit some balls with it once he has it completed and give me a NO HOLDS BARRED impression of it. I actually believe I can trust his judgement, lol. Now just to get the cue. Oh yes the rings are silver and all the white is Ivory.

Wow... I stand corrected.

That is the most un-Searing looking Searing I have ever seen.

Very beautiful though. Congrats!!!

Thats a sweet looking Searing your getting AK. Wish you all the best with it & come home safely.

You asked how long the wait was, Ill just say I had hair when I ordered it. Dennis is an exceptional fanatic regarding construction of a cue but if patience isnt one of your virtues he will test it,lol. To be fair though i waited as long for the Schick and Barry I was once owned and I still have a year and a half on Southwests waiting list. I may just get the Southwest than out of principle.
