Antique Brunswick t-rail install how tight and are washers used on the rail bolts?

How tight should my t/rail bolts be on a Brunswick antique table and are washers required on the rail bolts.
I just had Simonis 860 installed with Superspeed rails and I am only getting 3-1/2 to 4 table lengths with a hard center ball hit….
Three rail bank shots go easy but four rail bank shots fall short of the pocket by at least two diamonds…..
Rail height is at 1-7/16”
Any suggestions on why my four rail bank shots can not make it to the pocket.
Table is approximately 1890 vintage Blake- Collender.

There is an "Ask a Mechanic" sub-forum.

The nose-height spec from the WPA is:

Rail height (nose-line to table-bed) should be 63 ½% (+1 %) or between 62 ½% and 64 ½ % of the diameter of the ball.

For standard 2.25 pool balls, that's 1 7/16 inches -- just what you have -- so that's not the problem.

If the rails are not making funny sounds, I'd suspect a batch of bad rubber.

Yes, 3/4” or 1” tooth lock washers would be best, torqued just as tightly as modern tables would be with the bolts going vertically through the slate. Confirming correct rail nose height could also be a potential issue as to why you are not getting an optimum cushion rebound.

I asked this question several years ago... as I remember, Glen responded with 9 ft lbs. Any more and it may pull the anchors out. This is specifically for T-rails. There are special washers for these. They have serrated edges...don't remember the name.

This one more reason I respect the real 'King Cobra'.
