Just picked up an Anton cue from AZ member Civic. It was a shot in the dark purchase, because I'd never heard of the cues before. The cue arrived in a timely manner, with the extra shaft collars I asked for.
So far, I'm pretty impressed with it! Everything is flush from stem to stern on it, no raised rings or points or anything like that. The leather wrap is nice, and the seam on it is really tight. It isn't quite butter smooth when I screw it together, but I figure it'll smooth out. The cue rolls straight together and apart, but there is a little light (thinner than a credit card) under the shaft when I roll it across the table (from the taper style, maybe?). It's a 3/8 x 10, flat faced joint, with a bird's eye maple joint collar. The hit is extremely nice, very soft, but stiff at the same time. Sort of like putting a marshmallow on the end of a piece of rebar (currently running a kamui ss tip), generates a lot of action on the cue ball. I also apparently need to play banks with this thing, I only missed 2 out of like 25 last night.....I suspect voodoo.
So yeah, overall I think I got a great cue for the money, and Civic did a great job getting it into my hands. I've only got about ten hours playing with it so far, but I like it a lot.
