Looking for one around the WPB/Jupiter/Lake Worth area, are there any out there this weekend(7/16/09)
Thanks
Thanks
There are no tourneys at any of the local places but there is a Pro tourney on 7/25 at Ultimate Billiards in Fort Pierce and an amateur tourney at the same place on 7/26. The event is run by Tony Crosby. There is another event in Davie Florida west of Ft. Lauderdale at a room called MissQ. It is run by my friend Curtis Kelley and usually has a strong field. $75.00 entry and a possible payout of 800.00 with a full field. Race to 7, double elimination, rack your own. 9 on the snap in the bottom 2 corners spots up and the 2 is racked directly behind the 9.Man I have called almost every poolroom around and can not find one. I used to live here also but have moved away back in 01'....things have changed a bit
West Palm Beach.Any specific town? I don't know where you are headed from the towns you mentioned. What is WPB?![]()
I left that area about 10 or 12 years ago, so I'm sure things have changed quite a bit, but didn't Mizz have a nice room up in North Palm Beach area? I also remember a pretty nice room in Lake Worth on Congress down near Lantana, but as I said, that was several years ago.

PM forum member Poolpro he is in that area. Jason could probably steer you in the right direction. I have not been in that area since '03.
Isn't Grovers now called Airport Billiards? I know Jason used to work there.
Wow Kiss Shot closed huh? That used to be the room I liked most, Paul Johnson was a great guy and a great pool player.
How about Shootersville??
Shootersville in Delray had a huge rent (20K) per month. It changed hands 3 times and finally defaulted and closed. Sticks n Stones moved from the shopping center on the NW corner of Okeechobee Blvd. and Military Trail to Zip Code Place across the street. It changed hands a few years ago and changed it's name to Victory Billiards. After several major fights, drug dealings, and underage drinking problems, it also closed. Who would think pool halls had this kind of patronage?Man they are dropping like flies down here. I had only played in the room a couple of times but the tables were always nice and the tall ceilings were a big plus.
I guess Sticks n Stones went under as well.
I would guess that the rest of the surviving poolrooms might want to start having some tournaments to draw some attention to themselves.....sounds like a good idea to me anyway, but then again who am I?
Action Billiards is now called George's Billiards. They completely remodeled the place and it's NON-SMOKING. Atlantic Billiards(Royal Palm Beach), Airport Billiards (FKA Grover's Hip Pocket) and Georges are all non- puffing establishments.:thumbup:I don't think they called it Shootersville anymore.
After someone was shot there they closed and reopened with a name change.
It was a nice room. John Ditorro was house pro there.
It was a smaller room but what about Action Billiards in Boynton Beach?
Gosh I use to sell to all these places. I guess I can't make any money while visiting Mom anymore.
