sarah,
Hi, My name is phillip and i am from Birmingham alabama and recently qualified for the junior nationals 14 and under I qualified out of Barleys billiards in Atlanta georgia. Anyways i know you have been in some preety big tournaments and i was wondering if there is anything i could do to prepare myself for the big tournement in Arizona? also i know some pros are going to be there like johnny Archer who hosted the qualifier along with Emmanuel Lewis, and was wondering if you were going to be there?
i have been in alot of tournaments as well as winning a few but i still get nervous sometimes so please help me!!!!

Hi Phillip,

Thanks for asking for my help. Congrats on winning the qualifier, that is a great accomplishment. I would say the best advice is to have fun. Remember that everyone misses and everyone has to deal with good and bad rolls. Another thing, don't get intimidated by someone who seems to be better than you. You earned your spot there so you definitely deserve to be there.

I would say to calm your nerves a little you could practice at home a little harder. Concentrate a little harder and try to create the tournament feel. The most important thing is to stay confident. Believe that you belong there and you will do great.

I hope that I will get a chance to make it to Arizona. I would love to meet everyone and see old friends from my years in the Junior Nationals. I will see what I can do.

Let me know how things are going and if I can help with anything else.

Good luck,
Sarah

do you know of any more pros going?

hi Sarah,
i was wondering if you knew about anymore pros that will be going to Arizona? Also when is your next tournament in the South east?? Also i believe you were at the last derby city classic, I was there unfortunately i couldnt stay for the whole tournament, I saw two ring games where corey Duel won, and the other one when johnny Archer won ($30,000), were you there? and how did you do? I saw most of the 9 ball banks but we left the morning when the regular 9 ball tournament started because my dad had to get back home for work. Anyways write back and tell me how you did, somebody told me that you got in the top ten??

Hi Phillip,

I'm not sure of what pros will be in Arizona. I hope there will be alot of them there for all of the young people to meet. I was indeed at the Derby City Classic this year. I played in the 9ball bank and 9ball tournament. I finished tied for 20th in the 9ball tournament and didn't do so well in the bank tournament. You got to see alot of great pool while you were there. Will you go back again? Will you try to play in the tournament? Are there many good players in your area?

Talk to you soon,
Sarah

I hope i get to

hi Sarah how are you? I will be going to the derby city classic, And hopefully will be able to play in it ( If it doesn't cost that much) It was a great tournament last year, except for getting tickets because the lines were so long and slow. Are you going to play in it this year?

Hi Phillip,

I am doing alright. I think it would be great if you could play in the Derby City Classic. It is a chance to play some of the best players in the world. Last year was my first year playing in the tournament and I loved it. I am planning to go back in 2005 if there are no scheduling conflicts with the WPBA.

Take care,
Sarah
