 Haven't been able to access You Tube for the last several days. Usually watch a match everyday. Help! I'm "jones'n"

Try taking the battery out of the phone and putting it back in. This "reboot" helps sometimes.

Thanks guys. I did try going through browser. YouTube page will populate and even will "bring up" a match, but it just remains in "thinking mode" and won't run.

Also, my phone is a Razr Max and has a built in battery. I have turned it off and back on. Doesn't help.

Try downloading the dolphin browser. It is free and better than the one that comes loaded on the phone.

I would also try turning off wifi and mobile network and turn them back on.

Must have bigger problems, I'm afraid. Tried downloading YouTube update app, as well as the dolphin browser, and I keep receiving error message 498, which per google search, has to do with a cache issue. I tried clearing my cache, but keep getting message.

Do you have data limits with your provider?

I wonder if you have may be reached a data limit or perhaps the data speed on your provider has slowed down. Throttled maybe.

Found this possible fix for error 498:

Setting>Applications>Manage Applications>Google Play>Uninstall Updates

My youtube app's been working fine, you may have gotten an over-the-air update to your operating system that broke something. You can try reinstalling the affected apps.

Some apps are flagged as built-in and can only be updated, or rolled back. Others you can fully uninstall and then reinstall. If possible, uninstall and reinstall the youtube app.

If that's not possible, you might be looking at a factory reset. Typically you lose all your app settings, but it may be able to pull phone numbers and contacts from from websites like gmail, facebook, etc. ...that's what I did when I first switched to android and I got contact info for everyone I ever knew, plus a few dozen I don't lol.

You can do a backup with a special backup app like Titanium, but it requires rooting your phone. That's a whole nother ball of wax and is not difficult but it voids your warranty.

I was gonna say the same as Creedo above. Your Youtube app most likely can not be uninstalled so try to uninstall updates and try it then. If it works, try to update it now and see what happens. The update might be corrupted or didn't fully update. Good luck

Thanks for your kind assistance. I'll try that tomorrow, when I have some time.

And before you go that route, try a soft reset first.

I can't remember the sequence, but you can Google it. All phones with a built in non-removable battery have one.

It usually involves holding the volume key down and the power key at the same time, or some similar combination.

Doing thus "might" clear the cache error, and save you from the factory reset. Though that still may be what you end up having to do..... Good luck.

Good suggestion dub... looks like it's volume down + power for 10 seconds. Shoulda suggested that first.
