I have been playing really well for me I switched to a very long bridge I'm using about 10 to 12 inch bridge and I I have making shots I never thought I could make consistently
Any way this old timer noticed my bridge and said since you switched to back hand English your realy playing well I never heard of back hand English before so he explained
It and it is exactly what I have been doing but I called it throwing balls in with this extremely long bridge I noticed I didn't have to aim for squirt when using extreme left or right but it doesn't work if you try only a tip or 2 of English and doesn't work for very soft shots not work great for hard shots I can realy pound balls now dead in the pocket
But this guy also said that back hand English doesn't work with predator shaft cuz the pivot point is behind the the joint this guy. Is a smart open player kind of a legend in new Jersey. So. Does any body know if this is true can you use back hand English with a predator I think it's a 314.2 shaft and if you have any more tips for using this system is really like to hear them cuz I'm really new to it

Yes, many players are using back-hand english with their Predator and other low-deflection shafts. You generally need to use a longer bridge and it sounds like you've found the pivot point and are playing well with it.

BTW, I've never heard of a cue with a pivot point behind the joint... I don't even know if that's possible. There was a study done on it a while back and I believe the pivot points were measured to anywhere between 8 inches and 14 inches, with Predator shafts having the longest pivot points.

Good post.
I've been doing the same as you since the mid '90's. Back then I don't recall it having a name BHE. I didn't use it all the time. I called it "turning the OB" into the pocket.
I still use it today. Thanks to Dr. Dave's website I was able to find the pivot point for my shaft 10" - 12".

A discussion on the subject of BHE
