I have several silver dollars dating as far back as 1878 i believe. All the way up to 1928. Now for the pool connection. I may be trading some or all of them for a cue in the future. Don't exactly what kind of cue yet. If you want to communicate in private please pm me. I am trying to get a decent idea what they may be worth. I also have some later one's like 2004, 2005 and the like....your help would be greatly appreciated. And please don't ask why i bought them. .... i have no idea. I guess stupidity would be the best answer.........mike

This is a pretty good link to start researching coin prices.

Also, found this listing for a 1799 Silver coin on the site (photo doesn't show)....if you spend some time there, you will gain some knowledge. Jim

To keep things simple you need to get them graded by a certified coin grading outfit. The two top grading companies are PCGS and NGC. PCGS coins go for more than NGC when graded the same, but thats because PCGS are more strict with their grading. So to get your top dollar for your coins I strongly STRONGLY recommend getting them graded. Then after you do that, you can look at what the same coin fetched at auction. A great place to view how much a certain coin in a certain grade commanded at auction is at Heritage coin auctions ha.com and there is a link for coins. Like pool collecting coins is an art, you really have to know your stuff or someone will take advantage of you. Its not like you can just look up another us coin from your year and have an idea what is it worth. There are a hundred factors that go into making a coin valuable, age is only one. Think how many hours you put into pool to become good, coins are no different.

Most of these sound like Morgan dollars. Buying them may have been a good move since you're likely to turn a profit. Just the silver content of those dollars has gone up considerably in the last five years.
