Hello ,

I was hoping someone may know who could have made this cue. I know it is hard to tell but thought something may stand out . It is a nice looking cue and he belives it is a custom made cue that maybe was refinsihed and builders name was removed , what would the value be in a cue with unknown maker , what would you say it would be worth , Thanks

What does it look like under that rubber bumper, please show a photo if that bumper just pulls out. I have seen that cue before, a guy who plays where I play said he won it at a tournament many years ago - I believe in the Northeast, it has no signature at all either, but was a quality build with same points- sharp and high- also was a Hoppe style and also same exact wrap color - if I see the cue again I will take a closer look- but this jumps out as being very similar.

When I saw his cue, I was surprised by the quality of the point work and yet the cue had no signature at all. Are there just 2 veneer colors adjacent to the rosewood point- yellow and black?

Just looking at the pics they look like natural, yellow, brown then black. Maybe the original poster can tell better.

looks like an ADAM to me.
That is exact what I said. The Cue already sold , he was asking $ 400 but with not knowing who made it i did not feel right to get into it . I just got the pics I did not see the cue in person

I see three veneers only on closer inspection- and count four interlocking points which is indicative of three veneers - a four veneer cue has five interlocking points. Again, I have not seen three veneer ADAM cues - maybe I am mistaken, but, three veneers, the height of the top points, style of bumper, and style of Hoppe design do not indicate ADAM to me. Joint and joint rings could be from any maker- very common. I may get a look at the unsigned Hoppe cue in a few weeks that I saw at a tournament last month - I will check it closely- it may in fact be a match- which also being unsigned adds to the mystery- possibly :) if it appears to be match, the original owner of the cue will be present, and I can more details as to when and where he won the cue as a tournament prize - that may help.

Adam made Hoppe cues with that kind of bumper and points that high? Could be, I just don't recall.
No , the bumper was the issue for Adam never used a bumper like that. But from the joint down it looks like a Adam. It already sold. I did like the look of it tho boy.

Some of Jerry Rauenzahn’s early work was unsigned....I bought a Bushka looking cue years ago...it was quality, but too new to be legit....guy wanted a G-note for it...I got it for $260....this cue reminds me of that work.

Well, if you look closely at the rear bumper section- there are two distinct color lines visible just above the bumper and that would be unusual for a custom maker- usually the bottom of the cue on a Hoppe style is finished off with either no bumper and just a clean butt end with a nice chrome or SS butt end bolt or , if it has a bumper- you would just see a cleaner butt end behind the bumper - not two colors. Maybe for some reason the bumper was replaced or trimmed down - but either way- it appears to be an incorrect finish on the bottom of the cue.
