Thank you! I know he is really enjoying everything, and the people he has met. And so many of you all have been so nice to him too. He's told me he's really met some wonderful people. He can be such a ham too, tells me sooo many funny stories about the road. It seems he can find humor in many of his matches, whether he wins or loses. I basically raised Gabe alone, (he & his brother) and he got into pool about 14 yrs old, after years of baseball & soccer, so I tried to encourage & support him from what little I knew about the pool playing world, so that hopefully he could get even a small share of the action out there. And he's been totally on his own since he hit a big win at age 17, even helped his older brother over the years to get through college. This pool career is right up his alley for his personality! He's always loved sports. The next Billiards Digest issue (March) will have a large feature article on him, which should be interesting. But I want to thank you and everyone else that have been so very nice. It's really encouraging to all of us. And I'm sure he will try to give back what he can when the opportunities arise. Thanks for sharing!jungledude said:![]()

Just would like to take the time to say you should be proud of your son as both a champion player, but even more importantly, as a very nice young man. When Gabe comes to New Orleans we really enjoy seeing him play, he matches up fair games, but he usually gets out with the money.
You and your husband deserve a great deal of credit for raising such a nice young man......Humphrey![]()

Thanks Tex! Next time I talk to Gabe, I'm going to ask him why he let Corey beat him by one game!!! They're traveling together, and I think it's time for Gabe to beat Corey. Corey has been winning waaaay to many tournaments lately! haha (I'm actually happy for him.) Thanks for the info!!Tex said:Info. is now posted on AZ home page.
Gabe got 3rd in a strong field.
Thanks! I'm sure he has his moments though. And I'm sure there are some, possibly Basavich, that may not agree. But we won't stir that thread up anymore. haha1pRoscoe said:I echo jungledude's statements - I've played Gabe as well a few years ago and was really surprised how polite and easy going he is.. Very nice person indeed!
