Any one has an all burl cue?

I have purchased this Mallee burl in Australia and was able to get 1 forearm, 1 Handle (two tone) and three butt sleeves. I was initially thinking of having my cue maker make a plain jane cue with the two tone handle and ebony forearm and butt sleeve and another cue with Ebony handle and burl forearm and butt sleeve, then it dawned on me, what if we just make a single all burl cue, would it be too much eye candy?

Veneering on points is your friend in doing this .

I love burl more than anyone. But I do think an all burl cue might be too much. I think you need some ebony for the contrast.

Here’s my collection of all burls - not too much eye candy at all.

Left to right: Vigus HRB, Vigus HRB, Drexler HRB, Astle Asian Satinwood Burl, Drexler Buckeye Burl, and Schrager (okay, not Burl, but a damn nice piece of Birdseye maple that you also would want to leave alone).

I think the Vigus and Drexler cues give a few ideas if you want soemthing more than bare wood, but want to maintain the integrity and not hide the burl behind points.

The mallee Burl should look fantastic - good luck!
