Any others?

It does sound pricey, but I guess you'd expect that in that neighborhood. What was it like? Many tables?

Like I said it's a very upscale room with good service and top notch equipment. I didn't count the tables but Sarahs' got to be right at around 26 or so. I played downstairs next to two 3c tables. All the tables downstairs are Gabriels 9ft. with 860 on them. I'm not sure how many or what brand of tables are upstairs.
Most if not all the people playing downstairs seem to be recreational players just there for fun (mostly couples). Maybe they put the serious players upstairs... ;)

Anyway next time I go in there I'll probably ask to play upstairs....

note to Sarah.....if you ever want to play cheap 1 pocket let me know. I too am still learning 1 hole.

8nout,

The upstairs has all of the same tables. From what I heard that is where there will be league/tournament play. I'm not sure if it is open yet or not. Maybe only when the downstairs is full?

Have we ever met or would I know you? I would like to play. You can reply here or in a PM.

Talk to you soon.

8nout,

Do you plan on playing or attending any of the upcoming Viking tournaments? If so, be sure to introduce yourself. I haven't been to GCue since it opened but I am hoping to make it down there sometime in the near future.

I am planning on playing in the one at Pockets in May. I was planning on playing this month at Palace but have to have some minor surgery next week and don't think I'll be ready by then. I'll introduce myself at one of them.

I will see you at one of the tournaments. I look forward to meeting you.

Good luck with your surgery, I hope it doesn't keep you out of the game too long.

Tom owns Cue 'N' You up in Grayslake. There are 2 Green Rooms in the Chicagoland are, one in North Aurora and the other in Downers Grove. Both owned by the same people.
I went to cue n' you the other week. There seemed to be some pretty expensive one pocket going on. I don't know who they were, but i wasn't to impressed. I played someone (forgot his name) I didn't have my stroke on, and wouldn't you know it, 20 racks and I didn't get maybe more than 2 looks at a good ball. Nice tables and room though. i was looking to buy a house in Gurnee, so I need to check out the local rooms.
Sarah, i will be back in town again soon, I hope we can get together this time.
Jordan

Jordan we must have just missed each other. I usually play during the day at Cue N You billiards. But last week I went to visit my family in Bloomington, IL. It isn't a bad place. There are some good players. If you are looking to buy in Gurnee it will be the closest place for you to play. What day were you in town and at the pool room?

Hope you are doing well. Let me know when you are going to make it back this way.

Hi Sarah, it was a saturday during the day. I would not mind it if that was my local hall. It was nice and, the owner seemed nice, and yes, some good players. We are looking at gurnee, simply because I told my fiance that we must buy a place big enough for a 9 foot table. She wants buffalo grove but I don't think we can afford it. Even the good side of gurnee has gone up in recent years. OY Vay!!!!

All is well, I should be back in town in a couple of weeks and I will look you up then. Hope all is well on your end,
Jordan

Hi Jordan,

Gurnee is not a bad place at all. If you move up this way there are plenty of tournaments to play in so your pool game will improve. Let me know when you are in the area again.

Talk to you soon.
