Any player comments on the format or game?

Obviously, the first IPT event was a huge success by all accounts.

Now that the dust settled a bit, I was curious what the players thought about the round robin format and the game of 8 ball on the slow cloth. Did players find it easier/harder than they expected? Did they like the change to 8 ball from the usual 9 ball events? With the constant daylong play, did players mention rethinking their training habits or was it not much different than they were used to?

I'm not asking this to solicit attacks on the IPT. I'm just looking for some insight from the people that were in the middle of it all. It was an event unlike anything I've seen in pool and I'm very curious what the best players in the world took away from it (aside from a lot of money).

The cloth really wasn't that slow, and everyone played great that I saw.

I overheard Earl Strickland say to Kevin Trudeau that he would have preferred blue cloth over the green, though.

GLI should be replaced by straight winning percentage (racks won over the total racks played) as first tie-breaker.

Winning percentage should carry over to future rounds. (I changed my opinion on this. At first I thought that it would be better if the GLI resets before the start of every round, but I think it's a good idea that the GLI carries over.)

No 3-foul rule.

EDIT: Oops. These are my opinions. I missed the word "player" on the title of this thread.

Attempting to make Strickland happy is indeed a fruitless endeavor.
