heading over that way to spend a few days and i'd love to get some table time in. if anyone has suggestions i'd appreciate it.

there is a place called pockets that should be avoided like the plague. Try 4th St pool and pub. Small place in Opelika(next town, 5 minutes). It is about 3/4 mile north of exit 62 on I-85. Only has one good 9 ft, but it plays good, and plenty of action, from a buck a game to expensive. The owner, Joe plays ok, and will even play for fun. Sorry, this area is dead for pool. The only good rooms are at least an hour away(Montgomery, Columbus).

Your are right . . .

Dead there for pool . . . but you can practice at Bumpers . . . down near the WalMart by I-85 south of the campus. Ain't much goin' on . . . but you can see some fine college girls walk in struttin' with their boy friends . . .

I wouldn't go in there to practice if you paid me. A lot. A whole lot. The lack of action is just icing on the cake.

thanks for the heads up. i went with my girl who is an aburn alum and she wanted to stay close to the supper club in case we had a few too many drinks we could walk back to the hotel and pockets wound up being about a half mile or so from where we were. i will say this, if you go early - 6 o'clock or so - you'll be practicing in peace and quiet:thumbup: . you will also be playing on tables with three piece slate that is raising up at the seams:angry: . i hate the whole good news bad news crap;)
