Hey all,

I'll be staying in Buckhead GA for work 9/22-9/25.

I wanted to check out the local pool scene. Are there any pool halls preferably within walking distance that are halfway decent? Any weekly tournys I could pop my head in?

Thanks in advance!

There is nothing and I mean nothing that is walking distances in Metro Atlanta, Georgia so forget it. You want to go to Mr. Cues 2 off of Chamblee Tucker road and I-285 in the little strip mall. They have tournaments all through the week. Monday 9ball Wed. One Pocket Friday C & D 9ball. Lots of good players at $20.00 buy in.

Well actually there is The Independent in midtown. Probably not in walking distance (not much is in Atlanta, it is a big town) but they have decent 9 foot tables, it is as much bar as pool hall. Not as serious a room as Mr. Cues but they have a Thursday night tournament with a rotating format and it is free to enter! You win "bar cash".... but again it is FREE! It starts pretty on time at 8pm, free practice from 6 on and it is handicap and they go by APA handicaps...

Hey there,

Not sure if Buckhead Billiards is still open or not, but if it is then it is pretty nice. Not sure about any weekly tourneys that they have, but here's their # if you want to call - (404) 237-3705.

Also, Sandy Springs Billiards is not too far away either, but again, not sure about weekly tourneys or if these places just run leagues. Here are their didgits - (404) 257-0888‎. Apparently they've just done some renovations too so might be worth checking out.

But like Chi2dxa says, Mr. Cues II is the place to go, for both weekly tourneys and action, if you don't mind a 15 - 20 minute drive / cab ride.

Also, my parents live in Glendale so next time I'm out there I'll stop into Charles Billiards - I'd been wondering where I could go out there.

Hope this helps,

Brian

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'll probably check out Mr Cues II on Weds night, although I don't play any One-pocket.

If anyone else knows of any weekly tournaments in the area let me know!
