I've enjoyed playing pool all my life and started watching World Championship snooker a little over a year ago. Fell in love with watching snooker and researched the game so knowledge of the rules are quite good. There's a 12ft table in the Milwaukee area and if anyone would be interested in playing please reply. Also would be interested in leagues, clubs and groups in the area who enjoy playing snooker.

Romine's?

If you're referring to the 12 foot snooker table at Romine's, good luck with that Snooker game. Their table, even with loosening the pockets a smidge last month, is still way too tight to play a real game of snooker.

Its mainly used to play "golf" on by the retirees.

Would you have a chance to take a picture of the table and/or pockets? I'm curious how it would compare to others.

The only other table I found in Wisconsin is in Beloit at The Carom Room. Of course, I'd love to hear if there are any others.

Snooker

Hey Ricky

This is Dave in Racine. I have played at Romines a few times. I would like to try a game of snooker. Maybe after the holiday madness is over we might meet for a game. I have never so much as hit a shot on a snooker table but I would enjoy trying. You can be my teacher.

Hi Dave I understand the rules and how the game is played, but besides that i'd be a beginner also. Sounds like a good idea to me, talk to you on here about it. Rick

Hi,

I am in madison, wisconsin and am also looking to play snooker sometime. I have played a few times before and am looking for people to play with..

To my Cheesehead friends beyond the Cheddar Curtain, first off, congrats on a fine Super Bowl win...a job well done. But to the point, if you are looking for the BEST game of snooker, you can join us FIBs down in Crystal Lake, IL across the border. We have recently set up what I think is the finest facility to found in the region. We have some of the best players around as well. I know it is not very close to you, but you may find the pilgrimage worthwhile on occasion. For any of my southern Wisconsin friends, you can view the club and contact me at the web address: http://www.acesmachinery.com/snooker.htm

Two things I'd like to mention about the ACES club:

1. Videos of high runs are posted online. This is a great way to show off achievements of club members, and ACES has set a fine example for other rooms to follow.

2. If you visit, you may have a chance to meet a U.S. national snooker champion.

If you're headed into Illinois from Wisconsin, Crystal Lake is not too far from The Carom Room in Beloit, WI.

Although it's difficult enough nowadays to keep a public or private room running, it'd be great to see competitions between rooms.
