Any tournaments on Sunday nights in Denver?

I will arrive in Denver this coming Sunday and fly out Wed. There may be a chance I can get away Tuesday night as well. Can anyone tell me if there is a good place to play or any tournaments nearby? I will be staying at the Inverness Hotel in Englewood.

If all else fails, they have a bar box in one of their restaurants. :p

Sorry I missed this but go to cuetimes.com and check out the "tournament trail" section, it has all the local tourny info. Too bad you're not around Thursday, the best weekly tourny in town is at Paradise Billiards (38th and Sheridan). Laura Smith, Melissa Little and Megan Minerich play there regularly, along with most of the best guy players in town including Mark Hadad.

Englewood... closest decent place is Table Steaks South. They've got an afternoon (i.e. 1:30pm) 9-ball tournament. I think a fair number of the heavy hitters in town (i.e. the ones Alex mentioned) are there for this one.

Tuesdays, there's an early evening 8-ball tournament at TSS, but with a more moderately-skilled crowd.

Rackem isn't too far away, it's got good equipement and some action. Table Stakes East is a bit closer to her but I've never felt right in that place, Table Stakes South is a great room. I go there once a month at least for the Sunday 1p tourny.

Thanks for the tips everyone. Without Mapquesting, can anyone tell me if the 2 Sunday night tourneys are close to Englewood? I won't have a car and will have to taxi everywhere.

And how late does the Sunday tournament last? It would be nice to stop by and say hi to the gals, but not sure when I could get there.

The Break Room is probably 20 minutes from you without traffic. The other 8pm tournament is much farther away and I don't know anything about the place. THe Break room tournament is on bar boxes and it's... how do I say this... not really upscale. I'm not saying it's unsafe but it's kind of a dive. I haven't been there in over a year.

The best "pool halls" IMO are Paradise (probably 35 mins), Table Stakes South (20 mins) and Rackem (15 mins).

Taxiing everywhere from that hotel would be a pain, I hate to tell you. For a while I worked in an office building right there and I thought it was too far out and too hard to get anywhere. I don't live in Denver anymore tho so can't help on the pool goings on. When I was there this summer I thought traffic was a lot better with all the road improvements they have done. Inverness isn't that inconvenient with a car. By cab, well, it could get tiresome. I would seriously think about renting a car. And if you do it it might not be a bad idea to rent from some agency out there by the hotel. I flew to Denver in July and rented a car at DIA. They hit you with a huge surcharge. In August we had to go back but we drove. We still needed another car so we rented one. This time since we had a car to get around in before renting the second one I used the same car rental company but at a hotel location. The rental car was about $100 less from the same agency by not renting it at DIA. I think you could use up the price of a rental car with a few cab rides from there depending on where you want to go.
