I am looking for those weekly tournaments with $10 or so entry fee, either 8 ball or 9 ball.

And also, any good pool hall in this area ? I am looking for a place to practice some pool.

Thanks, appreciate your help.

forget about the bowling alley, just stick with college billiards any afternoon of the week for action:pool, billiards and golf on a 6x12.just ask aruond in thier and you can find any tourny in socal

Its behind blockbuster and vons on camino ruiz road. Fridays at 8:00, usually between 15 and 20 people with a$10 entry. Not a bad place to meet some people but it takes forever

CHIEF1 (i'm assuming that's you, dean) is trying to lead you in the right direction. College Billiards is the best place to go if you're looking for some action, and it's the best place to get info about any tournaments going on in the area, whether it be 9-ball, 8-ball weekly tournaments or bigger open tournaments. The best players hang out there almost exclusively making it the best place to pick up a pointer or two to improve your game.

I remember the first time I set foot into College Billiards...I was in town with the wife and kids doing the Sea World thing...Snuck out of the hotel one night to go shoot some pool and check out what the tournament scene was like...I was just getting the balls from the counter guy and this joker walks up to me and asked me if I wanted to play some "cheap" as he put it....I am not a gambler so I was probably not going to play any way, but just for curiosity I said.."mabey...what did you want to play for?" ..He said "$50.00"...I said..."race to what??"...He said..."No...$50.00 a rack"

This guy had never seen me hit one ball....They don't waste much time in there....

Yeah, thats the place, but be careful, usually if you beat the first guy, theres a hole line of people that wont even play you after that. But I cant argue, College Billiards is the best place around SD for action.
