thanks for the reply...
the reason I asked is b/c that is the addy that Chan has listed on his xbreaker web site..i was wondering if anybody was local to that area that would be willing to check in on the storefront/office
Okay, now that I have a clearer picture....lol.
There are a lot of Canadian-based businesses that will list a US address in Point Roberts, WA...as well as Blaine, WA. These are called 'portal' towns. I would doubt very seriously that there is a true storefront...most use one of the mail box places to receive mail and packages here in the US. The reason is generally two-fold. One is that it allows them to receive their mail and other shipments much quicker, as it is quicker for them to drive the 20 or so miles into the US and get their items, thus avoiding the often much, much slower Canadian Mail Service. Also, in some cases, it allows them to receive their items stateside, where they can now open the item, and carry it back across the border with them, often avoiding customs charges. You see this with items like bicycles all the time. At FedEx, they used to actually assemble their bikes in the parking lot, throw them up on the bike rack on their vehicle, and head back across....the border crossing generally isn't paying that close attention to whether or not the vehicle came through the first time with a bike aboard or not. Same would work with pool cues. If you already have a case in your vehicle when you came across, say, with one cue in it, they're not going to notice when you go back across the border that there is now an extra cue.
It is not considered a 'shady' practice for Canadian-based businesses to have an alternate US address like this...you will find them scattered across the US-Canadian border it's entire length.
