Well i for 1 am so sick of the sh#t going on about the GLORIOUS IPT. Kevin or DENO or Mike Sigel or whoever.....Either pay these players who trusted you both or get out totally. Every day that you are silent you are ruining the IPT'S reputation ever more. you keep making promises to people that the checks are going out tomorrow....I have to laugh because that is what a player owed money told me he was told by that Mark Trainer guy who happens to be this players agent. There is so much negative publicity out there already to hurt the people you need the most to protect.... The players. Yes the players. they get hurt from not getting paid and by getting lied to by your office or whom ever. That is what is wrong with pool players. Some guy on a corner on a soap box spouting off that he is going to have a million dollar tournament and all the players sign up and pay the entry only to find that there is no money coming from the promoter and that he has left with all your money after the tournament has ended..........no problem... it will happen again and again.... because the players have no one in control to protect them. Maybe the UPA and Charlie Williams can get involved some way and help the players out. Could be their chance for a saving grace if they can get all players united under 1 banner and negotiate with the IPT before any more tournaments can be played. Apparently something has to be done,,,,we all know that.... will the players boycott until paid? will the IPT have the Chicago tpurnament go off without paying for the reno tournament? If i was a pro pool player i would boycott until everything is straightened out to their benefit...Not the IPT'S or KT'S benefit.....just don't let them spin some more long yarn about the whole mess. but back to the original subject about being sick of all the posting on this and it driving wedges between people....so EITHER PUT UP OR SHUT UP AND GO AWAY KT AND THE IPT PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF WAITING......just my usual rantings......................mike

only to find that there is no money coming from the promoter and that he has left with all your money after the tournament has ended..........no problem... it will happen again and again.... because the players have no one in control to protect them.

The only way to protect our best players is for them to protect themselves: by entering the next event only if cash sufficient for the payout is placed in trust with a bank, or in an escrow account, and before sign-ups; one that can be verified.

That may sound unrealistic, but it is not, considering the net worth these guys claim.

Otherwise, we continue to demonstrate that a sucker is born every minute; and that the easiest guy to cheat is the greedy one --- the larger purse you dangle, the more irrational and careless the response.

But make no mistake, neither KT nor his Asian successor will ever be looking out for the players. From their perspective, the players are like tiny fleas in their circus; and they will step on the fleas on the way to the next gig.

Mike S. is the only flea who got rich here, and he was part of the management, actually. It's ironic that the only other guy to get some $$ is Keith McC, whose instincts were trained in the street; he's seen the hustle too many times before. Funny guy --- glad he got his cash.

The IPT was glorious. They sure did put out great events. No one can ever say anything contrary to that fact.

The question that was always there was how can the IPT survive with all that money going out and no money coming in? Well, the answer is obvious, it can't.

Now it looks like the money ran out prior to Reno and he was hoping on making some sort of deal with Ho to cover the payouts.

If that is true then all hope is lost for the players.

There is always talk about organizing the pool players but that will never happen because there is no one out there that they will trust. Yet it seems a lot of them trusted KT. At least to the point where they didn't demand a bond or a show of money prior to the event.

Also amazing is how quiet the UPA has been through all this. I never heard anything at all from them, either positive or negative. But then, I am not a player, and I really don't even know if they still exist.

But everyone knew that Charlie Williams fell for the IPT hook line and sinker. How strange was that unless he really believed in it? Surely his advisors knew, or could find out, if the IPT was solvent and for real. Most likely Charlie will find some new advisors.

jake, how do yo suppose that charlie williams, or ANYBODY else for that matter, could have in the past or presently, find out the solvency of the ipt, or kt, personally?

Personally, i don't think it is possible. With that in mind, your comments regarding charlie, are malicious and irresponsible. Also, to suggest that charlie believed or disbelieved in kt is purely speculation on your part. To add insult to injury, you mention he bought it hook, line and sinker, as if he was a baited fish.

Your impications, btw, are way off. I have had MANY conversations with charlie, about the ipt, before and after reno. Bottom line, charlie is nobodys fool, especially not yours.
