Anybody ever heard of this cue maker

I believe the cuemaker's name is Chuck starkey .. I've never owned one but he, at times, list very interesting and "different" style cues.

P.S. Just noted that the cuemaker's name is in the description .... stupid me. Sorry about wasting bandwidth.

Chuck makes a very nice cue, but they tend to be very light - be sure to ask for the weight before bidding on one of his cues. The nicer onces I have seen of his in the past had butterfly splices.

He makes cues part-time - I believe he is a jeweler by trade, but I could be wrong. He sells his own cues on ebay at times, but I can't remember his handle.

Edited to add: I owned one of his cues and it was very high quality, but too light for me. Chuck is out of Missouri and I believe he knows Cueman on this forum.

i haven't owned one but see them regularly... alot of wrapless stuff... looks nice.... he has his own pin that's interesting but nice to note on his auction if you're not satisfied with the cue- he'll let you return it!

Starkey

Seen his cues on ebay for awhile, 2 yrs or so? Always very light, as noted, never saw one with a wrap < my favorite being wrapless>, never played with one or saw one up close. Everything I have seen on ebay has been resaonable it seems.

Yes I know Chuck. He lived not all that far from me when I was in Missouri. He has been building cues for several years and builds almost everything with out wraps. He is a great guy and a pretty good player also. I am surprised he doesn't put more stones in his cues as he is a very good jeweler. Before he started building cues he had me build one for him with diamonds in it that he provided. He told me recently that he has been building more cues with a wood joint screw than metal screws and that they were selling good. I can see why his cues sell good after looking at the starting price on this one. Looks like a steal to me. I am glad to see him doing well.

i'm chuck starkey

i am a jeweler by trade and build cues as a hobby. i sell a few on ebay to buy more materials. i have built about 200 cues in the last 5 years. i use a chris hightower lathe and he has been a great help getting me started. i dont try to copy or build cues like everyone else, i dont use methods that everyone considers standard practice. i just build what i like, if i do it wrong and it comes out right i'm ok with that. if not its in the trash can and i try something different. i build no wrap cues, most have the wood joint pin. this cue is not for everybody, but almost everyone that hits a few loves it. i have been playing pool for 55 years and think i know something about what players want in a cue. i dont think you can beat my guarentee, if for any reason, at any time, you are unhappy with cue, just return cue in same condition for a full and prompt refund. i have just recently been introduced to az billiards. i am planing to post some cues for sale in the near future. i want to thank everyone for their positive response. keep your head down. chuck starkey

I'm looking at this wild looking cue, but don't know anything about the guy or how his cues play. Any thoughts.

I'll be able to tell you how they play shortly. I am getting a Sneaky with the wood pin from Mr. Starky.

Really looking forward to it.

P.S. If you read the post in the main forum concerning Mr. Starky you would get a better understanding that he goes above and beyond when it comes to dealing with customers.
