Dude, there are a lot of Gainsvilles in the US. Can ya give me a clue as to what state we are talking about?

OH, I like your butt!

Haha, really?! shows how narrowminded i am! Im not very well traveled only been out of Florida a few times, So yes, im in Gainesville, FL

Not quite sure, as always Johnny Ferber is popular, Steve G, and theres a guy who manages at Jewells who is supposedly pretty good, maybe its the foster person? Not sure.

Wait a minute!!! i know who you are.... david uwate right?? Haha, you won ACUI before? We just went to GATech in feb, too bad paul song graduated! He was there watching though. The reason i know you is because Matt Sherman sometimes mentions your name, he still runs the league in the Reitz Gameroom! Lol.. bet that brings back some memories for you!

yes it does hehe

Ferber is quite the character. Does honest John still play much?

Foster is the son of John Foster, a great player who lives in Florida.

Yes I remember many a night playing out of Players and Panama Joes.

If I were to go through Gville, where would be the place to go now for action?

How did UF do at regionals?

Did you ever know any twins named "Rod and Tod" They play at my home town (Fort Myers) alot, they said they went to UF about 10yrs ago.

Im relatively new, the last 2 yrs.. so i dont know all the older kids, I know some of the names but i forget them. Jay visaria knows alot of the older better shooters, hes a grad student.

You happen to know Matsumoto (Match) Murakami? Hes a friend of just about everybody there, hes been there a while, hes from japan

We did awesome, took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with only a 5 person team! We crushed everybody, but there wasnt very many good players there.

Hmmm, for the most action..... id say JP Gators? Seems to be the best place to get good action, I know steve G and another guy out of town were playing 5 ahead for $500 or $1000 or something.. Also a guy named Doug loves to gamble, just gotta get them out of their hiding places and into the pool hall!

Im sure alot of things have changed, i dont even know of a players or panama joes, now for pool rooms theres Reitz, Silver Q, JP Gators, and Jewells (being the best of them as far as tables).

But yea, if you were to stop through, pm me for my number, and maybe we can shoot some.

Sure i remember Rod and Tod...they played alot of pool when I was up there from 89-92. Havent been back since 1993 so most of the players up there will be unknown to me.

Thats awesome about winning regionals. So who is being sent to michigan for the national tourny? Do you get to send more than 1 player?

Yea, 2 of my friends, Frank Vytycak, and Chung-Yu Chang (leo to us), both get to go to nationals, i think its in Arizona this year. But rod and tod always frequent my home town pool hall, they play pretty good now..

Dave...is that you??

I've been reading your posts...and wondering...I know this man...I'm sure of it...didn't catch it by your last name spelliing...but when prolecat called you Dave...and when you mention Panama Joe's up in Gainesville...now I remember you...I'm not a stranger to you, am I??...never really saw you too much up there in the early 90's and still less since then...

Well, anyway...if it is you that I remember...good to know that you're still banging balls around...and doing that quite well I'm sure...

If you're ever in Orlando let me know...

ooops...looks like a double hit here...well as Johnny Marco used to say...'I didn't double hit...I just shoved it a little'...

Johnny Ferber, Iron Mike, David Grossman. Trennis is the owner of Jewells (B+/shortstop). Poker Doug plays at a good B speed. Steve G is a high B/shortstop. Best action is at JP's with Doug but there are a few people there who will play for some small action. Rich was a good player but I'm not sure if he's still there after I left. If you want some serious action thats not ridiculously far, go to Park Ave. in Orange Park/Jax, Rigsey's in Mandrin/Jax, Bank Shots or 6 Pockets on (Beach Blvd.) in Southside/Jax. Have fun!

Angelo!! Haha we had fun in ATL at your room man, good times, Han getting in that big arguement with loud ass douchebag guy! Haha, well have to come up again sometime. I heard you and frank hung out during spring break. This is Paul by the way, funny to see you on here :p :D

Hey Mike,
Sure I absolutely remember you. How are you hitting them nowadays?

You havent seen me much because I moved out of Gville after I graduated and lived in Jax for two years before migrating south. I have lived in Miami for the last 10 years. Getting married, having two kids and working 50-60 hrs a week pretty much made me a railbird for 5 or 6 years. Just in the last few years I've been playing in the local tournament scene and matching up some. I do notice though that some aspects of my game like that big break I use to wield seem to have disappeared along with my youth. :-(

I might venture out on the Florida tour this year since a few of them are taking place in South florida. The other day I had two three packs in a six ahead session so I feel like I might be getting back into gear somewhat. I dont travel much for pool anymore, but I am sure we will see each other again at another tournament soon.

Time flies...

Dave

Doesn't seem too long ago...but it was.

Was down your way a few weeks ago...went to the King Tut exhibit at Ft. Lauderdale...check it out...

Maybe will see you at a Florida Tour event this season...I do feel like checking in after so long...say my hello's and meet new players...not playing much so no great expectations...but you never know...I do feel like giving it a whirl...

Best wishes...

Mike

hehe.. s'up angelo, it's kenji. One of these days I'll take a road trip up to atl. I'm curious to see how much better you've gotten.

Hey Kenji and Paul!

I glad you guys enjoyed your time at our establishment. Quite impressive, are we not? j/k. I hope everything is going well in FL. I will try to make a trip down there sometime soon, so keep your eyes peeled! No sadly, I'm not playing any better. My last pro tour didn't go so well, lost 2 won 2. Short comings... ::shrug::
