anybody seen the accustat dvd's???

DVD's

Yes, the Accustat DVD's are first rate, fine video quality and sound, it is just like watching it live, well almost. They have interviews with the players and the guest commentators are usually very good. They are not a cheap VHS transfer. You pay a bit more, but you get something you can watch over and over again and it always looks good. I have three of them from last years U.S. Open and they are all great matches. :D

are they good dvd's,,,or are they just vhs transfers to dvd?
I bought the 2 ting game videos from the DCC. The quality is unquestionable better (well, except for Jim Mataya being one of the commentators, where's Bill Incardona when you need him, Danny DiLiberto is, as usual, excellent). I have a problem with them though. I very rarely make it through a match in one sitting, one thing or another comes up to interfer, I find it much more difficult to pick up where I left off with the dvds. With a tape you just shut the machine off and the tape is in the same place when you turn it back on. With the dvd you have to search to find where you were which is very difficult in my opinion.

Most AccuStats DVDs are indexed to the start of each rack, which is fine for banks or 9-ball (haven't seen any straight pool or one pocket DVD's yet). The ring game was an (unfortunate) exception, there being only an index half way through the disk. If you don't watch the whole DVD in one sitting, the lack of index points makes it hard to get back to where you left off, which is somewhat annoying.

I agree that the DVD picture quality is much better than VHS. I will be ordering DVDs all the time in the future.
