Anyone been to APA 8-Ball Nationals in Vegas?

Stay away from the Riviera!!!!

I went in 2011 and although we had booked rooms several months in advance, when we arrived at the hotel we waited in line for 5 hours only to be told that they were over booked and that we had to take a cab to another hotel 20 minutes away where we MIGHT have a room. We ended up in another hotel for two days taking cabs back and forth to the tournament and in the end after we finally got rooms at the riviera they were dirty and smelly. Worst hotel ever

The Kansas City (Jackson County) LO pays the $250 team registration fee plus $4800 for travel/hotel money to each of the four teams that qualify from our area. Up to the teams as to where they want to stay and make their own travel arrangements. Some teams report back they have money left over after tickets and rooms, some blow it all.

Discounts available at a lot of places. Being able to navigate the www for best deals can really help. Just don't wait till the last minute. Every weekend more areas are finishing their local qualifcation events. The rooms and plane seats are filling up and being claimed as every local area determines who gets to go.

Have fun. If you don't know how to gamble - then DON"T. I just saved you a lot of money right there. LOL
