Clicks used to have a special deal all afternoon for like $8. Might not do it anymore but its worth looking into. Are you wanting to practice or gamble? If its gamble let me know and i will steer you to someone in that department. Good luck in your venture.

that town was dead for action as far as I am concerned. I went into main street and whatever that other one is on broadway. Play time or something like that. They had a tourny at main street but wouldn't let me play. I showed up at 6:55 and they told me on the phone the tournament started at 7:00. There was one bye in the chart and the guy wouldn't let me play. Then he said if you stick around then I'll try you some and I'll give you the 8 ball. Then I immediately agreed and then he backed down. What a waste of a night that was.

Should not be any problem getting action during these events...

I know exactly what you mean, everytime I've been down there it's usually unsuccessful. Guys barking but wouldn't step up and play. There was one guy they called "Mississippi" that would give up action but that's about it. I heard he got kicked out of all the pool halls though for welching on some debts. There was a guy, Donnie Brown who barked a lot and tried to high roll but never played, same with this cuemaker Glen Graham. Bunch of nits...

Well ....
Donnie is from Wichita, lived in Phoenix for awhile, and moved back to Oklahoma City quite some time back. And yes, Donnie plays pretty well.
I know I gave him some lessons at one time. He got fed up with the Arizona
handicapping system.

The deal is $4.25 per player to play until 6:00, and it is still going. The flat rate does not apply to the 2 better GC's though (tables 1 and 10).

Now that Angel is married and back to work, he only comes down if he knows there will be action. There is plenty of $20-$40 1-pocket action at clicks during the day. There are some evening players that bet high, but they only play people they know. Why don't you come come down to clicks and play some 1-hole one of these days Holly?

Clicks on 1st ave & Ft Lowell is nice. Very clean, friendly people, some decent action from time to time, and several leagues. They have beginner leagues 3-4 nights a week on 8 ft tables, where you get a pechauer cue at the end, and a vnea bar box league 2x per week as well. The downside to clicks is that table time is a little pricey ay night, and they don't have much for food.
Pockets on Wilmot & 22nd is also a good place to play or practice. Cheap table time, decent sandwiches, and the people are mostly pretty nice. I think they have couple of leauges too. Not much action if you want to gamble though.
Main St on Broadway has decent $5 tourneys 5 times a week, and reasonable table time. They have a couple of leagues and there is almost always someone to play cheap sets with. Not my favorite, but maybe thats because it's such a long drive for me.
What part of town are you in?
Back when I still lived there (2003) I saw a few K change hands in the U of A student union pool hall. That's where I grew up.

I was really just looking to hang out with like minded people.?
I am not good enough to be betting on games, not much of a gambler, just love the game & wanted to hang out with people that love the game also & maybe pick up a few things watching them play.
Maybe my thread header was miss leading ? Not looking for "action" is that a bad thing ?
