Im right handed and left eye dominate. I dont think it has given me any more or less of a challenge than someone that is same side dominant.

I have a 18 year old son who has a "bad" right eye... has been surgically corrected three times (so far), but probably won't get any better. He has pretty bad vision problems out of it. He shoots right handed, and has to keep his cue close to his body so that he can still relax and get his head over the cue so that he can see his line of aim out of his left eye. I don't necessarily condone dominant eye shooting, as I use binocular vision to shoot/aim, with the cue somewhere under my nose, but in Tylers case, Dominant eye aiming is necessary. He does OK. Just required a little adjustment in stance and stroke style.

Later,
Bob

I'm pretty much blind in my right eye and shoot right handed. I just have to get my head further over to get my left eye over my cue. I don't think it's any disadvantage since it's been that way since I was 3.

Depth perception is not needed for pool and most other sports. Your brain can figure it out from the apparent size of the objects if you've had to deal with it all your life.

Hmmmm...I am not sure how to answer this....but here goes...

I am right handed in everything I do.....Except Shoot a Rifle, Shoot Pool and Use a fork....I don't understand the fork thing...I may just be lazy...I cut with a knife with my right hand, so I don't have to switch hands with the fork like the rest of the world does...(most put the fork in thier left hand when they use a knife and then switch hands with the fork to eat...watch close)

Even though I do most things right handed, I am extremely left eye dominant...When I do the dominant eye test the focus object will move completley outside the cirlce...

BTW...when I use a bridge, I can only do it by putting the cue in my right hand and holding the bridge with my left....( )

I am also extremly left brained..(probably one of the things that may hold me back on pattern play)...

However I know my brain is not too messed up..I fall into the typical male catgory doing the "stroop test" ..I can "read" the words much faster than I can say the "actual" colors.......Then again, I doubt I would admit if I could say the colors faster than read the words.

fwiw, I'm a rightie with monocular vision, left-eye dominant. I found out that I was a leftie when I was an infant/child, but my dad forced me into right handedness.

I'm a Righty playing Left. I am mildly Left eye dominant and just started playing that way years ago. Here is the wierd part when i use the bridge I use my right hand.

Before anybody asks I'm not Bi-sexual.

I'm the same way. I do everything right handed, except play pool. I can throw a ball left handed, bowl left handed, and even wave left handed, lol, but I am right handed, except in pool. Also, I use the bridge right handed the way you said you do. Peace, John.

I am right handed,

yet left eye dominant

i bat lefty, but throw with my right arm

i shoot a rifle lefthanded, but a pistol righthanded

I too personaly

Do everything Lefty, except Shoot A Rifle or Shot Gun, and am almost a Good With a Pistol Right Handed as Lefty.

Pool I got to get my Right Eye over my Q Stick, and Keep it over my Q Stick....

I shoot pool left handed and am right eye dominant. I do everything else right handed. I use the bridge right handed and I jump left handed unless I have to jump one real close and them I have to shoot it right handed like throwing a dart. Mike Sigel is right handed but plays pool left handed an is right eye dominant.
