i was just thinking of stuff i have never seen on a cue. Has anyone ever used a guitar string to wrap a cue and clear over it to keep it all shined up and new. might look neat:thumbup:

I bet it would to. Other than adding a bit more weight to a cue vs linen, it might be hard to find a Dean Markley thats 150' long.
One would have to do a bit of creative wrapping.

I think rust would be an issue...even the best nickel wound guitar strings rust. Piano wire or some kind of stainless wire might work better.

well

GHS sells a string as long as you want it. for custom instraments. If you clear couated under the wrap and then over it would it not prevent the Oxide? I have seen bike builders clear coat copper to prevent petina.

sorry for my horrid spelling

Yeah, maybe that would work...even if you coated finish over the wrap, it would look pretty cool...come to think of it, I'm surprised I've never seen any kind of wire wrap before. Gotta believe someone's done it at some point. Maybe someone will try it now!

I think 18 to 28 gauge stainless steel or any other precious metal jewelry wire might be a better option. I would suggest a heavy UV finish to counter expansion differences due to heat.
