curious as if anyone else has had the numerous problems with the model LA200 that i have had
less than one year old
second lathe, first one replaced after just a few weeks
4 belts
3 motors burned out
deltas service center in cincy, PRO TOOL , won't touch them anymore
quote: we're tired of working on chinese junk

faulty wiring, wrap
i've sent several emails to delta with no response whatsover
as long as they replaced the motor, i didn't care
now, delta says they would like to know where the problem lies before sending me a new motor
you would have thought that months ago
i told them to call thier own service center and talk to the owner that said what i said above
person on phone thinks i just made that up
politely told her to shove it
well, maybe not so politely afterall

i have one.

the belt wore out in a month, bought a replacement belt from a dewalt service center, and i could tell by looking at it that it was much better quality.never had a problem with that one.

used the lathe for about a year with no problems with the motor.

i recently replaced the motor with a 1.5 hp treadmill motor, (fully variable speed - that's why i did it) original motor still works fine. i have different pulleys and a "normal" v-belt powering it now, which i like better than the delta style anyway.

you can always hook up a different motor and change the belt/pulleys, OR if you want mine, pm me and we can talk.

it's used only for spinning cues for sanding and spraying now
it's not like this motor is under any kind of heavy load
it's been a real joke to say the least

why don't you want to keep it???
what's the distance on centers???
what's the weight???
have any pics of it??

Hi,

To many R&C's for now ......but, it's like 40" on center!? Aj got this lathe for me when I first started talking about messing with cues....and I would use if probably for a spray booth thing....but I don't spray a thing :D

I only hand rub my wood    ;)
:p :p :p
