Anyone have experience with Philippines customs and shipping?

My son got a cue from Blackpearl, the butctap cracked and he sent it over for repair. It has been at least a month with them asking for different information from him, and not actually being delivered. He just got a note from there stating the package is undeliverable and it will be "disposed of according to local guidelines". It's an over $1,000 cue that they are disposing off, instead of shipping it back. They have the address and phone number of where it's going, it seems they are just not delivering it. Anyone know any tricks or where to go so they are not just throwing away $1,000 my son paid for? It's insured but it's not technically lost, they are just throwing it away or destroying it or whatever they are doing because they won't let it be delivered. Insane.

Have you asked Black Pearl? They might know the local system better, or be able to speak to someone.

I've had a few from jd shipped no problems yrs back

Now you got me all worried about my custom he's(bp) working on lol

My son has been talking with him and getting whatever info they needed, no idea what else they are after. The guy thinks because of the value he declared on it for insurance but even then they did not say exactly why it's not being delivered.

It's not an issue of getting them from there, he got the cue without issues. But he tried to send it back to get fixed and they won't deliver it, nor from what I can see send it back, instead are "disposing" it.

Wow. This sucks. Int'l shipping/customs often turns into a total cluster-fk. I usually avoid it like the plague.

A lot of BP cues have pretty fancy wood bc's. Maybe that was reason idk. I agree its a long way to send a cue for repair.
In that case it would make more sense for BP to send the butt cap here for install. I hear we have some competent repair guys stateside.

Also, I doubt the cue is going to end up in an incinerator. It’ll be disposed of directly into someone’s cue case.

That sucks, but why send the cue all way back to the Philippines for a new butt cap?… It’s like a $100 job.
It was a full wood buttcap, which is why it cracked easily, not just a simple plastic thing. The cuemaker was going to fix it for free, it was scalloped ebony into burl. Seemed simple enough to send and fix aside from what seems to be laziness or simple theft on their side. He was told UPS did not have the proper documentation when sending, which I know we're there since I helped to tape them to the box. And they also contacted him to get the phone number and address which they got. Thing sounds like they are just running a scam organization to steal stuff coming into the country.

Maybe the assume it has ivory?

When they say dispose of they probably mean they are just going to keep it.

Alot of corruption over there.

Seems that is the case, just pure theft. Issue is the insurance on it that he paid for, is it "lost" when we know where it is but they refuse to deliver it or send it back? It was well over $1,000 he paid for it and had it for a week before it cracked.

Sucks

If it was sent via UPS, that changes everything. Because UPS will contact the consignee. If there was no invoice attached, they will ask for one to be able to compute taxes and duties. Ask the cuemaker to simply call UPS customer service, provide the tracking number, then email an invoice if needed. Then pay the taxes.

Hey, its a 'pool crazy' country. Maybe the customs dude was just ready for a cue upgrade. ;)

Customs people are totally honest public servants. Just like the ones in USA.

Actually UPS is being very helpful, they said the customs people said the documents were missing, UPS looked at the records and confirmed they were there, and are disputing whoever is on the Philippines side not delivering the cue. There should not be any taxes or duties involved since the cue was already bought, and was just sent back for repair. My son was also told that the insurance on it would be valid if the cue was not delivered due to whatever is going on over there so that is something he does not need to worry about.

Mistake to send it via UPS.
