anyone heard of Russ Espiritu ?

I am by no means a cue expert, however, I have had 3 of Russ' cues and they are all great players. He is a world class cue maker and listed in the BB of cues. I had a 95 model that was super clean and crisp 4-points and hit as well as any high end cue I ever had. He makes a great plain jane too. By all means, if you have a chance to invest in one of his cues, do it. You will not be dissapointed. However, if you buy it and still do not like the way it hits, or plays, you can always turn around and sell it. They keep their value very well.

My two cents,
Felix

You may be the only one on the planet that hasn't heard of Russ.

Espiritu makes some great looking cues. I've never shot with one so I dont know about what kind of hit it has.

aah..well i agree with you guys..i'm prolly be the first one never heard of his name.....so wat you guys think of his cue?? how does it play.??

Russ Espititu

His work is excellent and he has been very active with the American Cuemaker's Association. He knows his stuff. Buy with confidence.

Sorry I cant help you there. I've heard nothing but good things from them though. Sorry I cant help more.

The Blue Book says he's been building since 1984. His cues seem to hold their value very well which is a plus.

I can tell you that his cues hit great.I would compare them to a Scruggs.I have owned both and have chosen to shoot with Russ's cues most of my life.I am a big fan of the radial wood to wood joints and he makes them also.He is currently making me a matched set of cues that will never be duplicated and will soon be on his home page.I can't say enough great things about his cues...Thumbs up Russ

Espiritu

I've had a couple of Russ's cues and know some friends that play with his cues as well. While he does occasionally make some elaborate cues I would say he has a stronger reputation for his plane janes cues. They are very well made and very consistant. One of my friends is a road player and that's his favorite cue to play with. It doesn't draw much aesthetic attention but it will take your money just the same. You can usually get a pretty good deal on his used cues because of their simple appearance. Best of luck with your search.

yea...i dont know why..but i found plain cue attected ..so yea..that's why i want one..i got a 5k2 but still not the same like the real birdeye's wood and stuff they are just plain simple and nice..that's why iw ant it =)
is hard to find used plain jane now day's.. but tahnks

Just to give my 2 cents on the subject. I own a plain jane tulipwood Rus cue. It is not my primeary player, but it is my Bar room player. The cue plays strong and moves balls with no effort. IMO his cues are worth every cent for the money you pay for them. :)

I have had several of his cues over the years, both plain and fancy. They have a stiff hit, I think stiffer than Schon. My take on value would be: plain cue, (for a newbie that means no points or fancy ringwork), 2 shafts, probably $250 tops second hand if you plan to keep it, pretty easy sell at $200. Plain 4 pointer with no veneers, maybe a few inlays, $300 and easy sell at $250, 4 point with veneers and 15+ inlays , $450-600, easy sell at $350-400. Very high end stuff will be sold to a specific person looking for that cue. These prices are probably quite a bit different than what full new retail from Russ would be. I see them alot where I live (Louisiana). I have a couple of buddies looking to sell theirs if you are interested. They are in the higher ranges of prices I noted above. I would only buy at the lower stated prices. Both of my buddies' cues are 4 pointers, one with veneers, one without.
