Anyone heard of this cue maker?

Wondering what it might be worth?

If I were selling it, I would want $600 for it.

If I were buying it, I'd give $350...$400 would be my limit as long as the butt is straight.
The shaft doesn't matter to me...they are so easy to make or replace.

Great cue!

Not a Dragon Slayer though. That's something Mad Mike made up and now every one believes it.
Actually...almost the whole listing is from Mad Mike's website.

It is a Giant Killer.

I'd like to see how the shoulder harness is going to be used with this case...LOL!
Also...a professional glove? Too funny!

Giant Killer

I saw them retail for about 400-500 in the late 80s early 90s , " the Gambler"
the "Giant Killer" and the "Road Agent" were some of thier higher end designs in the 80s

I am by far no muecci expert i am sure there are members who can write you a book on the history of this cue

I could be dumb and tired and spreading a false rumor, but I thought that Bob Meucci made the original Giant Killer cue for the David Howard Series and that the lookalike-but-not-quite-copies for later production were called the Dragon Slayer.

The one in the OP is an original Giant Killer.

Freddie <~~~ maybe dreamt it

David Howard played great. He broke exceptionally hard for his time. If you can find some video of him shooting I'd check it out. As for the cue...I would pass, you can get a better cue for whatever money this guy is willing to take for it.

Yeah... definitely pass... no matter who it's for, at the end of the day, it's still Meucci...

Well.... Bob Meucci has always been an innovator and apart from the big quality issue of which I don't give a pass, Meucci cues have always been excellent player cues.

:duck:

If you ask Bob, he will laugh and say he doesn't care what you call it.
But he has no idea why people call it a Dragon Slayer.

It funny now because some people want to call it a Dragon Slayer and Giant Slayer,

But we all should know it is the Giant Killer.

David Howard was a top tier player in the 1980's with the nickname "The Giant Killer."
Hence, I would think that would be a good indication of the name of the cue.

Little David

Little David Howard won one of the bar rag shootouts in the early 80,s .The finals was a breaking war against Danny Medina. they even stopped the match because Danny broke the light trying to keep up with Davids monster break.

Aha....someone actually knows him by his right pool hall name....
....Little David
He's been a good player since he was 15.

He got his monster break martial arts....
...which he took up to cure his hot-head attitude.
