Has anyone here ever ordered a table from Diamond? I'm wondering how they deliver that thing. I'm just concerned that when it's delivered, it's offloaded only onto the curb like some shippers do or do the shipper bring it into your home? Thank you.

Cletus, you have three options. You can have it shipped to your step, then have local do set up,You can pick it up at a diamond sponsored tournamrnt in you area,or wait for them to have enough jobs in the area and have there crew do set up.Choose which is better for you.Good luck

Wow, phone 'em and ask them. Get it straight from them and don't rely on second hand info. I think your terms should involve whether or not they have a competent table mechanic in your area. Don't take the risk of the setup yourself - let them figure it out. BTW, I've played on a Diamond table and think they are an absolute thing of beauty. If money was no object, then a Diamond or a Gold Crown would be in my pool room. The ball return on the Gold Crown is a strong lure...JMHO

Racefornine is correct, I just bought a diamond about 2months ago, though i will add depending on your location........i would recommend having diamond deliver and setup your table. If you elect to go and pick the table up at diamond you have to pay taxes on the table. I'm located in Cincinnati and it was actually cheaper to have them deliver and set it up than it was to go pick it up.

I ordered a Diamond a few years ago. I had it shipped and set up in an upstairs room. When I talked to Diamond about the set up, I made sure they understood that it was an UPSTAIRS room because I wanted to know if that was a problem. "Of course not, we'll take care of it." Well, when the table finally made it to the house (there was a little hassle involved in actually getting the table, but that's another story), ONE guy was there. ONE. I don't know about you, but I don't know too many people who can carry a piece of slate for a Diamond Pro up a flight of stairs and through corners alone. I ended up helping this guy carry these super heavy pieces of slate (3 of them) plus all the wood, etc, up the stairs. Of course, I was on the bottom. My arms swelled up to like 3 times their normal size (at the time I weighed about 150 and could bench maybe 3 or 4 lbs :) ). When the guy finished setting up the table, he gave me a bill for the setup and it was full price!

Now, I could've bitched about all that, but I think Diamond makes the best tables on the planet. I forgave all simply because I don't think there's another product out there to compare to the Diamond Pro. And even though I couldn't play right after the table was set up due to swollen arms, I soon found out that I was right. There isn't a better table than the Diamond Pro.

If you are close enough just go and get it yourself and set it up yourself. I went and picked mine up and set it up my self it is not hard. I saved about 700-800 dollars doing this.

One thing to consider, the new Diamond Smart table has a one piece slate. That is going to be HEAVY .

I bought a used Diamond Professional from Mr Grady Mathews. I went to SC with my sons and we disassembled and loaded in a 10' UHaul trailer. Now being an older table it had the 3 piece slate. They weight over 300 lbs each but a couple of stong folks can move it. When we got it home we assembled the legs and bed. The I had a table mechanic finish the leveling and complete recover with 860. That was $450. Money well spent. Table plays like a new one.

Later, Pel :)
