Anyone in Boston?

Hi,

I live in Boston and am looking at having a custom cue built but am not really all that knowledgable in what I should be deciding on. I have been using a Lucasi for a couple years now and have recently picked up a custom made cue, but don't feel all that comfortable with it.

I was hoping there was someone in the area that may have a few cues with different weights/balances/sizes etc. or cues that play differently and would be willing to meet up with me?
People talk about a certain cue having a great hit, compared to others, but I have never had the chance to try different cues out to compare.

If anyone has any suggestions I am more than open to them, seeing as this may be a little far fetched asking someone you don't know to let them try your cues :)

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure where in Boston you are, I am more towards the south shore. The question I ask is what do you think a custom cue is. Becuase what I consider a custom cue might not be what you would consider a custom cue. When I say custom I mean one of a kind and that being said one of the best cue makers around happens to live in the north east down in RI, Mike Webb.

Mike Webb will just happen to be set up down at the Joss tour this weekend in Providence RI this weekend.

But like I said it all depends on what you consider custom and how much money you want to spend etc.

I am out a little west of Boston.

When I think of custom cue I think of something that was built for me, to my specifications, so I have a cue that is the way I want it and fits me best.

The problem is, I need to decide what is best for me, and I have only been able to use 2 different cues to base my decision and would like to get more of a feel for what is out there and availlable... So here I am looking for people with a variety of cues that hopefully hit and feel different.

I was thinking of going to the tour this weekend and hopefully meeting Mike, but am not going to be able to make it due to work constraints :(

Try taking a ride out to Marlborough to Firefly's Barbecue Restaurant. http://www.fireflysbbq.com/. They have a pool room with about 12 tables and have lots of different custom cues for sale. Even if you're going to specifically order one you can still try quite a few there if you don't object to being a little sly. I remeber specifically their having Webbs and Andy Gilberts there.
